RiverEdge Park Phase II Improvements BP2

R.C. Wegman Construction Company requests bid proposals on behalf of the City of Aurora for the construction of the RiverEdge Park Phase II project. This project features the construction of (4) new structures total: 1) Backstage Building, 2) Beverage Pavilion with VIP Deck, 3) Restroom Building, and 4) South Gate, plus Site Work in the Park.

BP1 (Backstage Building Early Release Packet) was already bid and awarded. The following (7) trades were awarded for early construction activities at the Backstage Building ONLY, so the submittal/construction process could start earlier (before the remainder of the design was completed by RATIO): 02A-Earthwork and Foundation Excavation, 02B-Drilled Piers, 02C-Site Utilities, 03-Concrete, 04-Masonry, 05-Structural Steel, and 14-Elevator.

For bidders that are bidding BP2-02A, BP2-02B, BP2-02C, BP2-03A, BP2-04, and BP2-05: do not include items at the Backstage Building. These items are already awarded. (We make this clear in the Work Scope Documents.)

BP2 (bidding right now) includes the remainder of items to be bid at the Backstage Building, plus the entire ground up construction for the other (3) structures and site work.

RiverEdge Park will host Christkindlmarket Aurora inside the park this November and December 2024. We are not able to get inside the park to start on the (3) new structures located inside the park: (Beverage Pavilion, Restroom Building, South Gate) because of Christkindlmarket. We do, however, have access to the backstage area of the park to start construction on the Backstage Building. Excavation work has already started. All (4) structures, plus the associated Site Work, is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2025.
